This updated 2023 qualification, Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF) (England) is the most up to date recognised qualification for Registered Managers that is approved by CQC and Skills For Care.
This Highfield Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF) (England) with Ofqual qualification number 610/1880/6 (95 credits) replaces the old Highfield Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF) that had the Ofqual number of 603/3594/4 (80 credits) which was closed to new registrations on 31 July 2023.

Qualification Enrolment Requirements
Location Requirements - The learner must live and work in England, UK, to study for this qualification.
Age Requirements - The learner must be at least 19 years old. There is no maximum age limit.
Job Requirements for this qualification - The learner must be working in a management job in a CQC-regulated care setting in England. Those who are not currently in a management job can start this qualification, but will be required to actively look for a management job, or at least deputy manager role, within a year of starting this qualification, to be able to generate practical evidence of management skills in a current real job in England, because simulation is not allowed for this qualification.
Previous Work Experience - The prospective learner must have experience as a senior care assistant or senior support worker in England, probably already acting as a deputy manager in a care setting in England. Those learners who enrol while working as care assistants will be supported to actively progress their career into a management role
Previous Qualifications Required - None specifically. However successful learners would already have a vocational health and social care qualification, such as Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF) (England) or an equivalent or related qualification, as required for senior care workers in England. Those who don't possess this will be provided with additional remedial learning resources to bridge the gap.

Requirements
You must live and work in England.
You must have access to a computer/laptop/tablet with internet access, to be able to use the e-Portfolio.
You must be employed in a suitable role within the health and social care or children and young people’s sector. Those not in a management/supervisory role should move to such a job role in order to evidence their skills and competence.
Learners be able to read in English to a minimum of Level 2 in literacy, and have numeracy (or equivalent) to undertake this qualification.
Learners should demonstrate prior achievement of qualifications at a minimum of level 3 in a related care area.
Career path
Completing this qualification makes you qualified to manage a care facility or health facility for adults, and eligible for Registered Manager status with the CQC.
You can further progress to Regional/Operations Manager, to manage a group of care settings, or own a care business.
